These marked the first two squares in my 9 Square Project. For those of you not familiar with design school, the 9 Square Project is designed to test craft and endurance before entrance into the design major. Each of the 9 squares is crafted by hand and meticulously cut to precisely four inches then mounted and sleeved. Many prosepective students don't make it past this first mile-stone, but I personally enjoyed it.
These pieces came from an illustration class under the tutelage of professor Marius Valdes. If you're familiar with his work at Zoo Valdes, you might notice a bit of his style rubbed off over the years.
