These marked the first two squares in my 9 Square Project. For those of you not familiar with design school, the 9 Square Project is designed to test craft and endurance before entrance into the design major. Each of the 9 squares is crafted by hand and meticulously cut to precisely four inches then mounted and sleeved. Many prosepective students don't make it past this first mile-stone, but I personally enjoyed it.
These pieces came from an illustration class under the tutelage of professor Marius Valdes. If you're familiar with his work at Zoo Valdes, you might notice a bit of his style rubbed off over the years.
Paper Sample Book
This was a group project in an upper level design class. I illustrated the Chef, and colaborated for ideas on the other parts of the project. The Chef's hat is removable and inside you will find paper samples with illustrations by Bryce Wilner and typography by Linda Fung.
